2014 Single Barrel Syrah
One barrel held back in reserve all these years tenderly and meticulously cared for. Our single barrel syrah is a shining example of what aged syrah in Washington State can be. Similar to the original 2014 released back in 2016 you may experience hints of oak, black pepper, and blackberry pie. On the palette you may enjoy rich fruit and mouthfeel finishing with dark berry flavors, earth and forest floor.
Conley Vineyard, Naches Heights
78 Months French Oak, 20% New
Conley Vineyard holds 15yr old Joseph Phelps clone syrah in about a foot of dirt over cracked Basalt, the slopes face south east for great early day exposure and the elevation is right at 1500 ft. The higher elevation offers a slightly cooler climate allowing the grapes a longer and steadier growing season and great flavor development.
23 Cases Produced
We experienced an average growing season with unexpected heat spikes causing sugars levels to spike close to the harvest date hence the unusually high ABV. The alcohol integrated well however.
